Dr. Patricio S. Faylon, Executive Director of PCARRD, has informed Consortium Director Dr. Eddie S. See in a letter dated June 24 that PCARRD can provide budget for the assessment of one technology for this year at a maximum of thirty thousand pesos.
The information from PCARRD was in response to the proposal submitted by
BCARRD requesting for fund assistance to conduct technology assessment for
priority technologies of the regional consortium. The technologies proposed for
assessment as drafted by Mr. Angelo Candelaria and Prof. Grace B. Brizuela, the
chairperson of the BCARRD TAP Team were as follows: Enhanced Asexual Propagation
of Pili thru Approach Grafting (Inarching); Makapuno Embryo Culture; and Pili
Dr. Faylon appreciated the immediate action of organizing the Technology
Assessment team of the consortium, and he expressed hope that with the TA team
in place, the Consortium will be able to hasten the assessment and eventual
commercialization of priority technologies.
